Most people
drink coffee on the first date right? But of course! Irrespective of how many
people initially think that alcohol would be the best first date primer, 90% of
first time meetings happen at coffee shops. The whole ambience of a coffee
shop, the taste and the unmistakable smell
of coffee is enough to send your senses in a delightful frenzy. In fact, in a study conducted by Mindlab International Laboratory in Sussex, UK, the scent was found to be a major turn on for women.
So on that
fragrant note, coffee has supposedly been around since about 1200 A.D., and sex
has been with us since we began procreating. So it only makes sense that there
would be some link between coffee and sex. Jokes aside, fact is, coffee contains
caffeine, a key stimulant improving blood flow to the sexual organs and
boosting the heart rate, as well as energy levels needed for sexual
performance.
In another study of sexual activity in the elderly
conducted by bio psychiatrists, the conclusion was that with at least one cup
of coffee a day, elderly women had a much higher rate of sexual activity, and
elderly men had a much higher potency rate.
While coffee doesn't normally come to mind when we think of aphrodisiacs, its ability to give us extra pep cannot be denied. Who can resist the morning scent of freshly brewed coffee? Not only does it make us happy - the rewarding rush of dopamine is never a bad thing. And if you're looking forward to that fateful "encounter" - wink wink, consider an espresso before embarking on your 'all-nighter" A little goes a looooong way - or so they say!
